My Goldfish Story #Facts

Lesson learnt:#Facts about Goldfish -must live in a big aquarium 10-20 gallons no matter HOW SMALL THEY CAN BE! -water should be change frequently (15-20%) a week. Goldfish can be really messy because they poop a lot! =/ -You must have a filter! -Don't feed them too much, they die easier when you overfeed than starve them -Air pump is a need because they need quite a lot of oxygen =) -I'll advice you not to mix other fishes with Goldfish.. Cause they can be bully even by a smaller sized fish.. -.-' -temperature about 18-22C (The lower the temperature, the lesser the need for oxygen intake) So, make sure the temperature isn't too high -Goldfish can't live in a bowl *All information got from the internet. However, If you are considering of raising one, take advice from the people who really have the experience because.. I sort find some of them info I got from internet not-that-accurate sometimes =/ If you have never raise fish before.. then try guppy! =) They are pretty and easier to kept. MySTORY Hi, F.Y.I I'm a Penangite. This is about my goldfish story. Most of you should know that Penang has this yearly Japanese Festival a.k.a Bon Odori. My sister and her friends took part in this game where you spend RM2 and gets to catch max 3 goldfish.. They ended took back 6 fishes so I volunteered to help my sister to take care 3 of them =/ As a student, we basicly don't earn money, plus money don't fall from sky either We can't afford those big aquariums and all, so all we managed is to buy the 1.2 gallons plastic tank Yes, I know. Goldfish can't survive long in that but we had no experience at all And there ain't anyone we know wants to raise goldfish nor have experience too (._.'') Goldfish starts gets sick. My sister's 3 goldfishes all died in less than a week time As for mine, I managed to keep them alive for 3 months.. I bought a filter, air pump and changed water 2/3 days a week (only 15-20%) F.Y.I the aquarium is big enough to put a small sized filter and air pump But it's still not enough. All of their tails starts to gets red. Found out the cause : TOXIC WATER Then I realized, it's not enough. Goldfish HAVE to live in a proper big aquarium. SO, I decided to put my goldfish into a pond Unfortunately, one of them passed away.. I saw it suffered and I knew there are no way saving it, so the best way would be putting it to sleep I removed it from the main tank, put it into a smaller tank and slowly add ice cubes.. As it gets colder, it starts to breath slower and it stops eventually =( End of the story. The other two goldfish is either still alive in the pond or got eaten but it's better to survive the nature which they have a chance to be alive than to die miserably slow and suffering death ain't it? # They are still QUITE healthy when I free them. They still can eat and swim but the redness in their tails shows that they are really unhealthy. I have to say I did learn a lot from them. I'm still really sad over the fact that I lost one of them and let the other two go.. Thank you Lao Da, Lao Er and Lao San! Love you guys always =) Labels: Aquarium, Fact, Goldfish Experience, Golfish |
